What is this phenomenon and how can I snap out of it?

Long story short, I always feel like I need to pee. I have had all the tests.
If I go to the doctor, I will be examined, etc etc, reassured, told I have a hypertonic pelvic floor, and sent on my way. I will be symptom free for the next day or two and sleep like a baby.
A few days later, boom the constant "I need to pee" feeling is back.
Is this mental? Am I going insane? How can I snap out of this?

Why does it stop for a day or two?

That is my question. It stops when I see a dr.

Do you actually have to pee? I have a friend who had a rare condition where her body was peeing vast amounts of urine and it had to do with a gland in her brain that was misfiring.

Did the doctor suggest pelvic floor therapy? Have you done the test where they check how much your bladder holds? You drink A LOT of water and have to hold it in and they do an US before you pee and after to check volume you hold and how well you empty.

If it goes away after reassurance I would assume it's a mind body connection. I would google mind body urinary urge and see if there are podcasts and videos you could watch.

OP, have you considered anxiety or OCD? They can present like that.

Look up how to retrain your bladder.

Consider cutting back on caffeine, citrus, peppers and tomatoes for a week and see if that changes anything. Also, I agree with pps about anxiety: you are very tuned into your urinary tract. Have you consulted for pelvic floor therapy? Perhaps with addressing the hypertonic pelvic floor, retraining your bladder and changing your diet, you can break this cycle.

Bladder cancer? Bladder cancer can cause changes in urination, including the need to urinate more frequently or with a stronger urge, even when the bladder isn't full. Additionally, there may be pain or burning during urination, and difficulty urinating or a weak urine stream.

This literally sounds like anyone with interstitial cystitis...

If the tests came back that it's nothing, then it could just be your fight or flight response.

Train your bladder. It works.
