Math is not my kid's strong subject and not interested in IT (as a career).
What other degree options are out there for Government type jobs for guys? He's a good problem-solver, great persuasive writer, very social. Not interested in Sales. |
| Any social science or humanities degree, but especially economics, political science, history, philosophy, and English. Add some data science electives and you’re golden. |

DS is at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington. He's not looking for a government job specifically, but he's interested in geopolitics generally. And as PP said, he's doing it as a BS, not a BA, with data science courses.

| I have three boys who all majored in the humanities - history and International Affairs. One is still in college, but the other two work within the intelligence community as analysts. |
How did they get into that? DD is interested in that route and we just aren’t sure what type of majors work best for this. |
They've just always been interested in that field. My younger son is currently at Virginia Tech, majoring in National Security and Foreign Affairs. Fantastic major! |
| Is philosophy a good major for this? With a minor in computer science or statistics. |
| Policy and eventual lobbyist |
| Why specifically for males? Are males and females looked at differently for govt jobs? |
| We’re all in sales. Go ask any partner at a law or accounting firm. |
| Business analytics |
| My kid is doing International Business with a minor in Economics. |
Because the Boy Mom! identity never goes away. |
Federal workforce is Male predominant. Period! |
