Trump loses

I'm absolutely delighted that both Japan and Canada explained to Trump that they hold a substantial amount in US Treasury Bonds and could call those in if they wanted and slowly destroy the US economy further.

Trump magically ended tariffs with both countries.

Way to go, Japan and Canada.

I love all the losing Trump does.

Too bad they warned him they should have called the bonds in and given trump cardiac arrest permanently.

Is this the sort of thing a President should know? It seems like something they should already know.

Trump hasn't ended tariffs on either, and you can't just call in a bond.

No. But if Japan and China dumped the US treasuries they hold (about 1.8 trillion) on the open market, the US economy would suffer greatly for a long time.

Yes. Yes it is. However when you think you know it all you don’t listen to anyone. And The Big Orange thinks he knows it all. He’s so smart 🙄

Yes. Trump "paused" the tariffs. This means he has ended up. He calls it a "pause" to save face.

Maybe I should have said "dumped the US treasuries on the open market" instead of "call in the bonds." The point is either country could negatively affect the economy of the US if they wished.

Trump blinked.

You realize China and Japan don't like each other? The animus is real.

China owns about 3% of our debt.

Now, you were saying (while cheering on our number one adversary, China).

What you don't get is that Trump has annoyed the entire world. And they are all looking at one another thinking "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Today the number one adversary of the United States of America as it has been known for over 200 years is not china. It is Donald J. Trump and his merry band of MAGA vandals. Policy is policy, but you jokers are trying to shred the fabric of this society.

Trump pushed Japan and South Korea into a trade agreement with China, that’s how crazy he is.
