Teen dd wants to laser off arm hair

Is this something people even do? Would you let yours? Have any of yours done it? She's 18, so I guess it's kind of up to her in the end. But should I encourage her to wait before she makes that decision?

Arm hair?!? lol. I wouldn’t pay for it.

yeah thats what i'm thinking. though she probably has enough saved up to pay herself

I think it’s fine. Has she shaved it?
Anonymous
no, she says she doesn't want to bother with shaving it

Dark haired girls can have overly hairy arms. My daughter’s friend had the hair on her arms lasered off in middle school. I think it’s common but you wouldn’t know unless it was a friend.

My sister did this and said it was one of her best decisions. But she was an adult and could afford it. My arm hair doesn’t bother me as much as it bothered her so I still have mine. She used to use hair removal cream as a kid to get rid of it. So yes, people do this.

It is personal preference. I’ve had plenty of other areas done.

If she’s 18 and can pay for it, why not? Help her find a reputable place so she doesn’t just pick the cheapest.

Is her arm hair dark? A lot of women have dark hair removed. And if she doesn't already know this, hair has to be dark for the laser to work.

I've had several areas done and love it. I haven't done my arms because weirdly I have no arm hair.

I wouldn’t care if she did it, but I also wouldn’t pay for it. It’s very expensive. It’s just arm hair, everyone has it. Considering it is a big investment and may grow back anyhow, I’d tell her it give it a couple yrs and she may not even care about it by then.

My teen DD will likely get it done when she has saved up money for it. She wants to do arms and legs. She has very light skin and very dark hair, so leaving it alone is not an option, shaving leaves ingrown hair and bumps, and because her skin is sensitive, hair removal creams don't work well. Oh, no waxing, either; it causes bleeds under the skin and rashes.

Just bleach it every few weeks.

She’s beautiful just the way she is and doesn’t need to laser off anything.

+1

And, any man (or other gender) who does not see her for her inner beauty is shallow and not worthy of any of her time.

Sure. At 18 I don't see the point in waiting, it's something that either bothers her or doesn't and it seems like it bothers her. Plenty of women do it.
