| I’m an older gen z (27) and was wondering what skills senior workers find helpful from Gen Z, and if there are areas where you see Gen Z can improve in the workplace? I have great relationships at work but don’t feel like me and my peers are where our coworker 5 years older than us were 5 years ago. |
| Grammar. “…don’t feel like my peers and I are…” |
|
Gen Zs have their own path to carve out.
I am 42 and I was just thinking a lot of the feedback I got in my 20s came from a place of insecurity instead of trying to get the younger me to be more productive. And these people who thought they were helpful and expert now have jobs way below my pay. |
| They would like you to put up with narcissistic abuse, work long hours without wanting overtime pay, and be weak and stupid so they can gossip about you. All they do is gossip about coworkers all day long. They never see their laziness, so they would like you to do all the work, theirs too, but they will still criticize you for being lazy. |
Thankfully Gen Z knows how to use AI better than you. |
These are genx and boomers, watch white lotus the 3 older women |
Learn how to use the desk phone. Put people on hold, transfer them, etc. |
Oh to be young and arrogant. |
They tend to be collaborative. Sometimes it's a weird amount of narcissism added in that I'm not used to but generally they enjoy working with their peers. |
|
Stop using AI for everything and thinking it's good enough. You need to check for tone when using Chat GPT - it may be too formal or casual, and it may not exactly fit the situation at hand. If you want to use it, use it as a starting off point and review it closely.
Do not use generational slang in the office. Don't nod and say "bet." when you agree with someone unless they're within five years of your age and at the same level as you. Your bra straps should not show. Ever. |
Ok, fine. But, seriously, either use AI or learn proper grammar, because your poorly constructed sentences make you sound dumb. |
| Be cute and wear a short skirt. |
| Just curious, what is wrong with that sentence? I’ve never gotten feedback that my writing is poor, so wondering what I could do better next time. |
Remove “and my peers” and reread it. Is it correct? |
“I” is a subject. “Me” is an objective. You wrote “me and my peers” as the subject. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/grammar/me-vs-i/ |
