So how many SEC staff have taken the Fork and VERA now?

What’s the current head count?

Since both programs are now over, I assume that in the interest of transparency and decency, management (and the union) have both communicated this info to staff, and discussed the plan for going forward.

Can someone share?

Why does this matter? The scale of upcoming RIFs if any isn't tied to any objective headcount level. DOGE will turn up the heat and inflict whatever level of employee trauma they deem proper and PA will let them. Your exit options are what they are and honestly might be better than you expect. A lot of firms are hiring.

If it doesn’t matter, why did they do Fork/VERA to begin with? Just RIF and spare everyone the fake niceties.

Because it does matter. They have a headcount target. Just not sure why it’s a state secret.

So are you asking for disclosure of the (supposed) head count target or the number of people who left? Those are different.

The audacity not to announce this is the first 35 minutes of the first business day after the programs closed!!!

You assume this has been communicated to staff ... so you don't work there. Why do you care, then?

Mgmt worked all weekend to implement 5 bullets. So drafting an email to staff on Sunday isn’t too much to ask.

Both? Either? Anything? Any information whatsoever?

The only emails I get from the FO are 5 bullet reminders.

And if they hadn’t provided you guidance on the 5 bullets you would be complaining about that.

The five bullets provided information that you needed to act on on Monday, so timing was important. There’s nothing you need to do, never mind today, based on the number of people who left.

I understand you are curious and may want the information, but it’s hardly critical that it gets disseminated, particularly immediately.

I'll never understand why people are so secretive on DCUM, regardless of subject. Lockdown in a school? If you have to ask, you don't deserve to know. Same here.

It's weird. More info is good so that people in the community, but not directly involved, can understand the issues.

If you don't know, just say: I don't know.

^ not OP, BTW.

NP. I don’t get the reason for the lack of transparency. Is it bc the info is genuinely secret (if so, why?)? Or they’re just too lazy to send a quick email to staff? Or they just don’t care?

Well, now there are beans to spill, who’s going to do the spilling?

Hopefully no one. If you work at SEC, you know. If you don’t, you don’t need to know.
