I'm so glad the teachers and principals in this school are getting the recognition they deserve for starting this program. I think it's the best positive behavior program I've seen in FCPS in all our years in the school system. Way to take acts of kindness to a new level and build cohesiveness and support between students and faculty.

| Welcome to DCUM, principal of Kilmer Middle School. |

Already common at other schools but glad they are trying to improve Kilmer.

A parent. |
I see other schools doing this for a week or so but not on display by the front door in this way and not in the newsletter each week like it is here. I'm glad it's getting positive reporting in the midst of all that is going wrong in the area. https://kilmerms.fcps.edu/aggregator This program has been going on for several years there but was just in the news recently. Kilmer is one of the top 5 schools in FCPS in numbers of children to TJ so it's also known for its academics. It's also known for it's music and inclusion. It's a well-rounded school. |
Good luck selling that house. |
| No one likes Kilmer. lol. |
No reason to think it has to be a school employee. Anyway, positive goings on at local schools is welcome news. |
Our neighborhood kids who go there like it. |

I know first-hand that Kilmer hasn't been a great school in the past. It's churned principals and a number of them were downright horrible. The supervision of teachers was also woefully bad. Your kid could have a great experience one year and a terrible one the next year.
The last couple of principals (Miller and now McFarlane) have been better, so they are justifiably happy that it's on the up-swing. But suggesting that this particular program, which isn't different from what other schools have been doing for years, is taking acts of kindness "to a new level" is over-the-top. |
+1 |
Or the Kilmer PTA President. |
+2 Kilmer is great for many reasons and the Principal is to be respected but I find this program ridiculous. It's fine to do but for it to be the center of what Kilmer is, is over the top. |
It was just an article about a program they have. Central to what Kilmer is? Since when? Obviously a bunch of negative nellies who have an ax to grind for who knows what reason. They don't seem to have kids actually at the school. If you can't even acknowledge that a program supporting students who are doing positive things in the community is a good thing it says more about you than any school that implements this. |
Sounds like you got ratio'd. - PP who had several kids go through Kilmer |
