Wisconsin vs Va Tech

Girl choosing between the two for engineering. In state for Tech. They seem very comparable. Thoughts?

Engineering? Accounting is the future.

Unless looking for a job in Wisconsin, there is no obvious advantage to going out of state.

ABET means all engineering schools are rigorous and also means that the curriculum is heavily standardized.

Why would you pay out of state for a very comparable degree?

Go look at VT if you have not visited. A lot to like there

that is quite the broad statement.... there are many low ranked 2nd tier state schools that are AbET

How is this even a question? VT is an excellent school and you're in-state.

Wisconsin engineering is excellent but so is VA Tech. Go for the in state.

There are only a couple of schools that I would pay OOS tuition for engineering over in-state VT and Wisconsin isn't one of them. I wish my son had this option. I might think about it if it was Purdue or Georgia Tech.

Michigan and of course GT. As long as the fit was right.

If they were both out of state, I would say Wisconsin, but tuition matters and in this case, it would be a significant difference.
