Reluctant Harris Voters Can At Least Live with Themselves

Anonymous
I wasn't the most enthusiastic supporter of Kamala Harris. Thought she was a lightweight who refused to take clear stands on some of the important issues of the day.

But I voted for her because I thought she was fundamentally decent, willing to surround herself with smart people, and smart enough to listen to them when she knew they had more expertise than she did.

I am so glad I went ahead and did that, despite my reservations. If I had voted for Trump, only to watch him destroy the American economy and so many people's lives in such a short period (aided and abetted by unelected circus freaks like Musk), I would seriously be considering ending it all now. As it stands, it's going to take a lot of endurance to survive the havoc he is wreaking, but at least some of us are not totally consumed with regret for having voted for this idiot. As for those of you who did, I hope you fully embraced the utter nihilism of it all before you voted for him.

I have yet to come across a trump voter who is regretful. Even this week.

And if they were they will never come out and say it. If the MAGA movement dies it will die silently.

I’m glad to hear it, OP.

There is a core group that will never defect. They will be living in the streets fighting over scraps of food and ask daddy Donnie to just spank them harder.

I don't know hindsight is 20/20. I did not vote for either candidate. Maybe not the same mistakes or chaos but you gave zero ability to foresee what kind of madness Kamala would have made in her term. You can feel better but the truth is I had zero confidence in either of them.

You are lying if you say you guarantee things would be better with her running the show. Again, there's no way to know. This is what we have and we can all drown in our sorrows but I have zero regrets. These things aren't for second guessing and you putting guilt trips on people is wrong.

We all have regrets but people like you who focus on making themselves feel better is called being weak and insufferable. You need to just be happy with you'd own decision. You do not vote for anyone else. Even Trump voters who may or may not have regrets - that's their business. You take care of you and leave it at that. One day I'm sure you'll be shamed into feeling something you shouldn't be ashamed of. You have your rights to live as you want as does everyone else. If you don't believe in this then please get out of this country!

MAGAs are not big on self-reflection.

Maybe you should leave the country if you can’t tolerate people speaking their minds. I’m sure Russia would be very hospitable to you.

You cannot be serious. She may not have knocked your socks off, but since the economy always does better when a Dem is in the house, I am sure she would have had real economists around her and she would have listened.

I get criticizing Harris for not taking clearer stands on some issues. It’s important to understand a candidate’s priorities and values. At the same time, Harris was in a difficult position. As the then-current Vice President, she was still actively (and possibly legally and morally) responsible for supporting and implementing Biden’s policies on behalf of the United States. I felt this was a particular concern with regard to the Palestinian people. She didn’t have the freedom that another candidate would have had to speak openly, freely, and critically of Biden’s policies — which she was still bound by oath to implement. Her responsibilities as VP muzzled her — to the detriment of her campaign.

I don’t regret my vote at all. I read the OP’s comments with recognition and agreement: I see Harris as a smart, decent, competent person, with the kinds of experiences and expertise that I’d want a president to have — including the ability to surround herself with other smart, decent, competent people who value service to our nation.

Of course we can't know with 100% certainty but I am fairly confident of the following with respect to Kamala Harris

-She knew who were our friends and who were our enemies
-She wouldn't have a drug-addled billionaire wrecking the federal government
-She would have chosen her cabinet by looking at qualifications and expertise
-She would not be wrecking the economy with tariffs
-She would not be throwing Ukraine under the bus
-She wouldn't have pardoned the J6 rioters
-She wouldn't be threatening/suing law firms
-She wouldn't be threatening/suing news outlets
-She wouldn't be threatening/suing universities
-She wouldn't be deporting people without due process
-She wouldn't be locking up poeple here legally for expressing opinions
-She wouldn't be doing stupid sh&^ like renaming the Gulf of Mexico
-She wouldn't be messing with SS

I am sure there are 1000 other things Dump has done that I am not remembering in the fire hose of "stuff" coming out of the WH.

Guilt trips are the least these MAGA idiots deserve to experience in their futures.

Those who didn’t step up, see at least some of the writing on the wall, and vote for Harris as the only viable alternative to Trump played a role as well in the current carnage.

What do you mean that you'd be considering "ending it all"? Are you suicidal?

We had unchecked immigration, high crime and district attorneys turning violent criminals out of jail, the constant drone of grievance politics and woke, and constant airdrops of pallets of tax payer cash everywhere...without their consent.

Where did I lose by voting for Trump?
