I know someone who goes to work daily with zero tasks to do. She was let go by Musk & Co. and then brought back by court order. However, the projects she worked on are still gone. She's being paid to sit at work and read a book or play on her phone. And yes, her Supervisor told her and others on the team that it was fine to bring in books.
