MCPS hiring at your door?

New hiring practice?
Mcps taking a mobile bus on the road to hire you in your neighborhood to try to fill open positions. Interviewing, fingerprinting, checks all done from the comfort of a bus? Why do they need a Central office then?

Some of the employees are lower income and may not have transportation. THis is a good thing to get bus drivers, subs, paraprofessionals, cafeteria, etc.

+1 is this supposed to be a bad thing? If there are staffing needs for para type roles-this seems like a good way to fill them.

Probably a good thing. Picturing a bus/truck driving by the neighborhood with the music and all, lol. Will people come out of their homes to approach the bus with their resume (like $ for ice cream) and leave with an offer (the ice cream)?

I guess this is what OP was referring to? Would've been nice to link or reference this in the original post.

This is a great idea - if you knew the number of bus drivers, and other employees, that we are short every year, you would agree.

Does mcps hire bus drivers? Don't they outsource to company to do the hiring?

People don't want to work in education because the lack of rules or standards makes life dangerous for people making poverty wages and who are pressured to work double time for no extra pay and admin actively working to blame the workers for the violent chaotic behavior that is ingrained in mcps students through administrative corruption.

Because lower income people only work those positions? Why can’t they hire teachers from the truck? I am a paraprofessional and my household income is more than the principal and assistant principal combined. Your comment was offensive.

You have to know your situation is not common. Most paraprofessionals (and note that PP said "some") are not in lifestyle jobs supported by a high-earning partner. It is nice that you are, but it's not the norm.

They can but reality is most don’t have trust funds, rich high income spouses or are in retirement. Most are fully living on it. Your comment is offensive as you are bragging about your wealth which most don’t have.
