Cleaning Lady Shoes

I realized today that my cleaning lady wears her shoes in our house. We don't wear shoes in the house so I find that gross. She doesn't mop upstairs so it feels extra gross. Can I give her $60 to get shoes to wear inside of my house? I don't want her to wear socks only in case the floor is wet, yuck.

This. I don’t think this is unreasonable at all. When we had furniture delivered recently, they brought these themselves. Same with the people who delivered our stove. And the electrician that came last year, now that I think of it.

She needs a pair of shoes to wear in your house that are indoor only. That is what my workers do.

Ask her about the shoes and then determine. Most cleaners will clean wood floors with a wet swiffer, that is odd

My housekeeper brings her own indoor shoes that she is comfortable to work in. What you don't want is someone slipping and falling in uncomfortable shoes. And those shoe covers would probably be really difficult to work in for hours cleaning.

I would say that you realize that she is wearing her outdoor shoes inside, and you don't wear shoes indoors. You might buy her a second pair of what she wears now, one she leaves at your house to insure she doesn't wear them outside.

I wouldn't ask her to work without shoes, but I think you can very nicely offer to buy her the indoor shoes of your choice. Frame it carefully. A good cleaner is gold, and to be appreciated. Don't offend her.

OP, If you are that OCD then do as the PP said and get a box of shoe covers and ask her to wear them inside the house.
