| When will GA-Aspire release their teams/conferences? Will this strictly be a tier 2 league from GA teams or will they add some clubs that will have their first team in the league - but GA didn't give them a GA spot (say some E64 teams maybe)? |
|
Probably like ECNL/RL
GAA will house GA clubs 2nd teams as well as clubs top teams that are looking to get promoted to GA I |
| yea, we are being told that GA is holding back some GA offers this year (NOT ECNL transfers, but totally new clubs) so the clubs can spend a year in Aspire and then prove to everyone that promotion works by promoting these teams. |
This has to be Alexandria trying to put lipstick on a pig. |
kind of makes sense |
This current year may be the last that Alexandria is going to be able to retain their players. So many options close by to play in higher level leagues then what they have access to. Many around have ECNL, ECNL - RL, and GA. Not sure they will stay for Aspire. |
| If GA is actually going to promote GA-A teams, this will be great for clubs that are not in an area that has options besides USYS. |
Where the rubber meets the road is that a club is going to have to perform well at all six age groups to get promoted, can't just have one or two really good teams. IN ECNL, they really looked for teams that could place first or second in their ECRL conference in all six age groups to promote. Over time promotions fell off, as they promoted the teams that deserved it, and the remaining top club teams in ECRL mostly couldn't beat the 2nd tier teams from the clubs already in ECNL. |
It really comes down to gatekeepers in these leagues keep certain clubs out. Maybe not in the DCMA, but in other area's of the country there is a lot of gatekeeping. Midwest area - FC WI is one of the worst ECNL clubs year after year - but CL started ECNL and keeps everyone out of it from Wisconsin. FC WI wouldn't have the top team at any age group in WI and also wouldn't even have a top 3 in most of the age groups - they have one team is is solid. They take 15 or 16the every year but nobody else can get in. GA is similar, they added one team last year but the main GA team helped block the better of the teams that applied. It is clear which club is the best in WI and they are a Top 100 club in the country but are stuck in USYS. If they allowed an open application process and showed the reasons why or why not a club got in, it would open a lot of eyes in my opinion. i know this is not a midwest forum, but the same thing going on in WI, went on in MI and MN and ILL. |
Oooo this will be interesting |
| well if they are not going to have relegations, then they need to keep spots open for promotions, no? |
|
Are they just going to make one big announcement saying:
Here are all of the DPL teams Here are all of the Aspire teams Here are all of the new GA teams Here is the new GA Alignment if not, how long will it take them at this rate to get everything out |
| If GA takes players from GAA where is GAA going to get additional players from? Isn't it just one team per tier? 18 players per team. What happens to GAA if GA takes 1-3 players. They're not holding another tryout. |
| oh my gosh- Alexandria is desperate and continuously left behind. Why do parents of older girls keep falling for it? |
| I really do not know what clubs are going to do this late in the year. A lot of teams have already given out offers. If they get GA or GA-A or something else, do they just go with what they have or do they have more tryouts and cut players they already gave offers to or what? |
