What’s the tagline for the opposition?

Anonymous
We lost the election because we suck at messaging.

So let’s workshop the call to action through catchy messaging suitable for t-shirts, car magnets, tote bags, etc. If we can fit it on a lapel pin, even better.

What’s the logo?

What’s our counter to the red maga hat?

It needs to be positive. We need to fight back, but we need to foster hope.

Next: what will it take for opposition leaders to galvanize a groundswell of support that sparks real action?

And who are these leaders?

I think we need fresh faces with high energy. Fighters who can not only bring facts, but can throw out Tik Tok worthy zingers that reach and resonate with the masses.

We can do this, Dcumlandia!

We have lost the election not because we suck at messaging, but because the party has been hijacked by left-wing extremists whose causes and policies do not resonate with the general population. Furthermore, the old guard are merely cowards clinging to their cushy positions.

We need new faces who understand what people's concerns are. And I don't see any, sadly.

The "tagline for the opposition" is: "we didn't listen to your concerns, and we were arrogant enough to think that we can force a joke of a candidate down your throats. And now we are doubling down on this, claiming that you didn't vote for her because you are misogynistic racists."

Ok, explain how Kamala Harris was a joke of a candidate. Go ahead. Please explain how a 78 year old convict, bankrupt, reality tv host is a reasonable candidate, but a 60 year old with experience as district attorney of SF, attorney general of California, Senator, and VP of the United States is a joke.

I mean, they are misogynistic racists. We can acknowledge that the candidate wasn’t the best and the people who vote Trump are human garbage without two brain cells to rub together. Take a page from the GOP book and treat them like the useful idiots they are.

We lost but we are sticking with our failed policies

NP. So far the taglines seem to be:

“We are still right even though you didn’t vote for us!”
“We think you are stupid for not seeing how right we are!”

So, yes, room to improve.

The “causes and policies” were greatly exaggerated by republicans, and nobody had the attention span to realize it. Most of the things they were concerned about were cultural shifts that had nothing to do with politics. Using pronouns should not be political. Unisex restrooms (aka private) are the norm in most countries. Transgender athletes should be handled on a case-by-case basis by the organizations involved and is extremely rare. The fearmongering worked, sadly.

The republican party used to be the party of small government, and now they run to their politicians and tattle every time someone does something they don’t like.

What extremism? If you can’t differentiate between anonymous posts online and what Fox says about liberals, and what actual liberals in office stand for, please sit out of politics. A handful of impressionable college kids who were manipulated by bad actors does not equal “democratic policy”.

I think the messaging needs to be centered around the concept of restoring freedom and autonomy in our daily lives. They need to present a plan to deal with immigration in a methodical and fair way. They need a plan for eliminating government waste in a sensible way. They need to toot their own horn. It was so frustrating the way Biden and Harris refrained from touting their accomplishments.

The difficult thing is that uneducated adults actually have no idea what their rights are and how our government works. They are not familiar with the constitution or bill of rights beyond their interpretation of the 2nd amendment. They don’t know what freedom of speech actually means. So democrats somehow need to incorporate mini lessons in civics into their messaging. I recently talked to someone who grew up in Texas and was never required to take US history or government classes. Only Texas history was required. So yeah, people honestly never learned their rights or how our government is supposed to function. They never learned about checks and balances and how crucial they are.

If you have to go to “unisex bathrooms are the norm in most countries,” you’ve lost credibility immediately. That’s absolutely not the case other than in some urban centers of some wealthy European countries.

“Using pronouns should not be political”? Well, they are now. Welcome to reality.

Your problem with the bolded is that it is entirely unworkable in practice. And a lot of swing voters are the volunteer youth baseball coaches, the AYSO coaches, etc. They don’t have the time, energy, education, or legal resources to deal with the lawsuits. They need a rule that’s a bright-line rule that’s easy to follow that doesn’t require a youth sports organization with no extra cash to hire an extremely expensive gender lawyer to make a policy that someone will sue about anyhow.

This is the problem with the Democrats these days: you sound entirely out-of-contact with every day life for normal people and particularly normal swing state voters. You promote ideas that are simply not grounded in reality. And then you are utterly confused by why people flinch back from you.

The unilateral rewriting of Title IX was very extremist.

My sentiments exactly. Republicans won because of grotesque distortions and misrepresentations, and Dems inability to counter and check them.
