In other words, American citizens. Not saying these people shouldn’t be arrested and charged. But we are just forgoing due process and sending people to a gulag outside of the US?

If you can send non citizens to a foreign prison and it works, then you can start deporting actual citizens to foreign prisons as well.

Way to miss the point. I don’t think anyone is saying they shouldn’t go to jail. But you don’t see why sending Americans to a prison abroad is an issue? Like nothing about that raises any alarms for you? Not at all?

Nobody should be burning Teslas. But if it's done by US citizens, it should follow our standard laws for due process and sentencing FFS.

Not wanting to follow basic constitutional processes for US citizens is not American. And I would say the same for a serial killer, whatever. We have processes in place for this. If we do not follow them, it absolutely becomes a slippery slope.

Also, logistically, the El Salvadorean excessive imprisonment strategy is going to collapse. Bukele has SKYROCKETED their country's debt. It's a house of cards. We can imprison criminals in our own country without accelerating the inevitable collapse that will be happening there ane eventually bites us in our own @ss at the border.

They didn't send J6 protesters to El Salvador and they staged a coup....and in fact rescued them from prison time. I absolutely do not believe in violence. But we must follow rule of law and due process. The administration in charge is extremely divisive and incites violence. Everyone against the administration's policies are deemed enemies.

There is only rule of law for the suckers who abide by it. Trump and the GOP have made it clear, the law does not apply to them.
