Teen girl got arrested next to CVS right outside Tenleytown-AU Metro Station

Anonymous
Right after Jackson Reed High School students had gotten out, I was walking by the Tenleytown metro station next to the CVS and saw a teen girl getting arrested and her group of friends were next to her. It seemed like something very bad had happened and I was wondering if anyone knew what happened - I know some kids recorded it. Please let me know.

Do you really need to know????

Probably shoplifting and the police dealt with it. Stop being nosey.

Teens shoplift. News at 11.

Really not. You also need to worry about your own kids instead of asking for rumors about someone else's minor child on the internet.

Surprise - people, including teens, break the law and get arrested regularly.

The classic exchange:

“I’m curious about this event that took place in my neighborhood.”

“Mind your business!”

Presumably OP has access to Google and can look up what happened in her neighborhood. Everything else is speculation and rumors about a minor child. Not a fan!

People keep trying to tell me Tenleytown is a lawless hellhole in precipitous decline yet it's apparently still so boring there that simply the sight of a teenager getting arrested is exciting enough to warrant a crowdsourced investigation.

Those two facts align, yes. It's out-of-the-ordinary to see a teenager getting arrested in an area that is normally overrun with teenagers, a significant number of whom are up to no good.

I've seen teens dealing drugs at that location too, but cops normally leave them alone.

I guarantee you she was caught stealing at CVS.
CVS and 7-11 deal with theft on a daily basis.

OP, just fess up and say you’re nosy. It’s ok. I’m also nosy.

Why does anyone care if people want to know crime. Do you think it’s disrespectful to not publicly talk about criminals? Wtf

Tenleytown, like most of NW, peaked in the early 2000s. Once the independent one screen theater went away it was downhill from there. Cleveland Park was at its peak when Dino, Ireland’s 4Ps, and the Uptown were still in business. Ditto Friendship Heights when the fancy AMC was the first to serve drinks in the area.

It’s been sad to see all these areas decline.
