Waitlisted. 3.9 unweighted highest rigor. 1560 SAT. Actually relieved as DS has an equal caliber better fit (in my view) in hand but my DH really likes Wash U.

Thank you for your interest in Washington University in St. Louis. The Admissions Committee has completed its review of Regular Decision applications, and we are unable to offer you admission to the Class of 2029.

The Admissions Committee carefully considered your application, taking note of your academic record, talents, and achievements. We appreciate the time and care you put into your application, and we regret that space limitations prevent us from offering admission to all of the many accomplished students who applied.

We wish you the best of luck as you continue on your college journey—we know that regardless of where you begin the next chapter of your story, you'll continue to achieve great things.

I went to an Ivy in the 90's and thought I knew the college landscape (remember "insider's guide to colleges"?) and I must admit that this is the first time I've heard of this university!

Wow, you have no clue. WashU is amazing. Kids with Ivy level stats ED here.

Kids with Ivy level stats apply RD. The ED kids, especially from private schools, are well below.

Not from my DC's school. It is surprisingly hard to get in even as an ED. I have no dog in this fight as my kid applied elsewhere but it is completely on par with the lower Ivies for ED admits.
Like many things this may vary by high school. Colleges have different standards and/or histories with different schools.

Missouri’s you are sending at kid to MO that’s just bad parenting

Especially if it’s a DD

College is about jobs if you think there will be any in MO much less them coming back here with a degree from Wash U lol 😂

Also MO is a state that will 100 percent require no interstate travel for women of child bearing years. They already have legislation ready to go.
