| and enrollment. |
| Transparency to whom? They are private schools. Their Board of Directors and prominent donors can see whatever they want to see. If they are successfully attracting and retaining students that serve their goals and mission, why do they have to show rejected applicants the details of their processes and decision making? |
| Nope. They're private. They can admit whomever they want. |
| No! Are you serious? |
|
It would be interesting, wouldn’t it? Everyone would see if schools were actually walking their talk. Esp wrt FA.
But no, they don’t have to. |
And no one cares. I don't give a rat's @ss who they give FA to nor to who they don't let in. It's not my decision to make. |
You don’t. Others do. |
| I don't understand the question. Do you want to know the stats and demographics of applicants? What would you do with that information? |
Ok, so you do. Lots of people still don't care. Private schools are not required to disclose it. |
| The OP wants schools to publish details on application, financial aid and acceptance rates, demographics and details. In other words, information that they are neither entitled to nor will ever see. |
| It's PRIVATE school. No one is required to apply. They don't have to tell anyone anything |
| No, why? I mean, it would be *nice* but the process is not about being nice. So much of it is subjective, balancing a grade according to the school's ideal parameters... |
Actually, I don’t and never said I did. I just get so tired of people on this forum arrogantly assuming that the way they think is the way everyone thinks, or should think. Schools don’t, never will and aren’t required to. |
|
Yes.
You should also review your neighbor's taxes and hire a PI to run a background check on the colleague who is in close competition for the promotion you want! |
|
No, they don’t owe the public anything.
What exactly do you mean by transparency and accountability? To whom? As a private school parent I am paying for a certain type of education with a specific type of peer group for my kids and my school has been very accountable for providing that. |
