Obviously times are turbulent and I am looking to cut expenses. One big expense in our house is our dog. She is large breed and I go through a $75 bag of food every 2.5 weeks. Add on vet bills and boarding (which we could cut since we aren't going anywhere) I think we should think about rehoming or returning her to the shelter. Anybody else thinking of doing this?
We have 3 kids who we have to feed and an extra $140 a month would be helpful. |
I will refrain from telling you what I really think about you.
Just buy cheaper dog food, and quit wasting money on other crap you buy such as eating out, fast food, junk food, overuse of electricity, air condition, etc. |
OP - I can't buy cheaper dog food. Dog has very very sensitive stomach and can only tolerate this dog food. Its expensive as hell. We are trying to cut things pretty bare bones but still try and you know feed our 3 kids and let them have some normal childhood. |
Lmao the dog
Maam, go touch grass. Eating out, shopping, subscriptions, turning off lights, vacations, kids spending, entertainment, gifting Out of all the things you gonna get rid of the dog ππππ |
I rehomed our family pet and not a day goes by that I don't regret it. I thought I didn't have a choice but we could have done it if I had waited a few years. |
You need to do what's best for your family, OP. |
I don't understand why people have dogs. They are expensive, smelly and take a lot of time. I'd rehome the dog. |
Not to mention following the animal around picking up its excrement. yuck. |
Gross. |
+1 Have you thought about how it will go over with your kids? βWe are suddenly too poor to have a dog now (which they will question), and we should have thought of that before we got it, so we have to get rid of it now. No more family member, guysβ |
Seriously. Talk about fodder for future therapy. They'll also probably blame themselves, "i would have rather not gone to Disney than give up Fido!" |
Omg...yes! Many are not ready to take care of another family member it is a life changing experience. Many don't learn how to train their dogs either. Not sure if it is a fad, a security reason, or simply because "it's cute" that they keep a dog around. |
Yes.
Also: - saved shower water is great for cup oβnoodles or is it cup a noodles - off husband for life insurance - worms are protein Keep at it, OP. |
A whole thread for this topic: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1260108.page |
The kids are costing you more, now and in the long run. Feed the kids to the dog. |
