Reducing spending due to uncertain economic times

I'd rehome the kids before the dog.

Just buy cheaper dog food, and quit wasting money on other crap you buy such as eating out, fast food, junk food, overuse of electricity, air condition, etc.

When you take on a pet, it is a lifetime commitment.

You don't just get rid of a dog for convenience so you can keep spending money in other areas.

STOP being selfish. Get a side hustle and make some more money if you want to keep your current spending habits.

Ever heard of kids? All of that and more.

Why did you decide to have three kids? Why did you get a dog? Do you ever consider that once you take on a responsibility, you should not shork it?

No it isn’t. You can get rid of a pet anytime. There’s no contracts. OP should definitely can the dog.

This has GOT to be a troll.

No one could be this insensitive.

Hi, OP. Quit sockpupetting your own troll thread.

Of course it is.

So you're not ready to tighten your belt and let go of frivolities but you want to abandon a pet you've had for a long time and who is part of your family?

SHAME ON YOU.

Add on vet bills and boarding (which we could cut since we aren't going anywhere) I think we should think about rehoming or returning her to the shelter. Anybody else thinking of doing this?

We have 3 kids who we have to feed and an extra $140 a month would be helpful.

The kids are costing you more, now and in the long run. Feed the kids to the dog.

This is the only logical solution

Please note that OP did not post in the Pet Forum and did not accurately title her thread.

All troll moves.

Our dog has stomach issues and is very expensive to feed. However, he is more effective and cheaper than therapy for my anxious husband.

Cut absolutely anything else. I can’t even believe you would consider this. Like, I would give up meat first. Or I’d drastically lower my heat setting.

+1 and there is nothing I buy or could buy that would bring me anywhere near as much happiness as having my dog around.

OP, no. You cannot do this.
