If it's set to disappear within a given time, it will be gone. Otherwise it will still be there. I bet some of the people in the chat started taking screenshots when the story broke. Some people delete and deny, other preserve documentation to protect themselves.

Yeah, you're probably right about that. This administration traffics in finger pointing and scapegoats so somebody (or more) will have taken screenshots to guard against that.

I have a colleague (from a rural area, very religious) who thinks this is proof we are end of days and only the intervention of the devil could explain the level of Trump sorcery at work here.

Similar thing happened to a DHS employee who added a journalist to an email about the ICE operation in CO. Sensitive info but not national security level info. This person had their security clearance revoked and was placed on leave. Noem blamed the leak for the low number of arrests.

Yet, these idiots get to not only keep the security clearance and their jobs, but MAGA defend them. Staggering double standards, and low standards for the people who hold our national security in their hands.
