Was he pushed out? Seems like many changes in NBC and MSNBC. |
Maybe he is sick? Posters thought he looked unwell: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1161362.page |
I immediately thought it was because of a private illness. Maybe lightening the workload will be good for his health. I hope he's OK. |
He’s 65. It’s not an unusual age to reduce one’s workload. |

New person in charge. |
Joy Reid show cancelled. |
He’s not leaving NBC he is going to be on dateline full-time now. He’s only leaving NBC nightly news. Dateline allows more flexibility. Due to many things are taped. There’s not the daily/nightly requirement. At his age I think this makes sense. |
There’s also an expectation of travel to breaking news zones that comes with the anchor job. At his age, and if there is some illness, I could see that he wants to be done with that sort of work. |
I hope he is well. I will miss him every night. |
I adore Lester Holt. I don't watch the nightly news anymore but when I did, he was my favorite. |
I’m 65. I can relate to the fatigue! |
I will miss his soothing voice. |
He is older than dirt |
Charming. Oh, look, there’s karma with an eye on you! |
He was calming in chaotic times. I’ll miss him in the anchor role. |
