Why do atheists and anti-theists care about the beliefs of religious people?

Anonymous
We live in America and we have the right to freedom of religion.

literally nobody cares if someone is an atheist, that’s their choice.

why are personal religious beliefs something atheists and anti-theists spend days and months trying to “debunk” or prove “wrong?”

Are atheists and anti-theists against America’s religious freedoms? It seems they are.

Why do atheists and anti-theists dislike religious freedom and why do they dislike the freedom of their fellow Americans to have religious freedom?

Theist here and a big fan of religious freedom.

I’m not sure I agree with your premise.

Religion is easy to exploit to cynical and unholy purposes of financial and political gains. Many of us strongly disagree with that

Religious freedom and separation of church and state are very important for healthy democracies.

Religious people constantly try to get others to join the faith. Why do you think it's so weird that non religious people might do the same? It's obviously popular among many different groups to try to get others to believe as you do.

Why do you care what atheists think?

Same reason, just the opposite perspective.

I will note that not one atheist I know complains when a theist attempts to defend their position. They relish the chance to discuss it, in fact.

Wonder why that is?

Oh and that bit about atheists being against religious freedom?

That’s total bullsh*t. Very dishonest.

I see the moderation team deleting any posts that are considered proselytizing by Christians on this forum.

Why are atheists and anti-theists allowed to proselytize here but not Christians?

I don’t care if anyone changes their mind but I do love to point out stupid arguments.

There is just so much stupid in our country - it’s mind boggling.

Are facts and science “proselytizing”?

When atheists represent God incorrectly (God gives babies cancer) is when I care.

If I posted that atheists sacrifice babies to Satan you would care, because it’s an obvious and disgusting lie.

Constantly posting that God gives babies cancer and allows them to suffer and dir because He is a cruel bastard is definitely on that level. It’s not true.

It seems like when you see everything through the lens of religion (fake narrative) it becomes tough to lock in on reality.

Science and scientists do not try to prove or disprove God or supernatural phenomena as they do not have to tools and knowledge to do so.

So do you think that gods are or are not omnipotent?

I hVe never once gad an atheist try to convert me. Christians on the other hand, pretty constantly. It's not atheists set up by the metro trying to hand out books every morning, for instance. I get tons of those "He Gets Us" ads on various websites. I haven't seen any atheist ads.

Crucially, atheists aren't trying to lead prayers in schools and aren't trying to pass laws that take away my bodily autonomy.

And to be clear, I'm a Methodist. But when push comes to shove, I'm going over and sitting with the atheists instead of the evangelical Christians.

You believe religion is made of “stupid arguments?”
