Throw down- what is your favorite choco chip cookie recipe? and do you prefer thin and crispy, or thick and chewy? choco chips or choco chunks? white sugar or brown sugar? butter or browned butter?

I’m on a mission to try a new recipe each week until I have found my favorite.

I'm too stingy and frugal with eggs to try out recipes and potentially waste a small fortune on ingredients fir weeks of trial & error.

I use the Silver Palate cookbook choco chip recipe. Best one's I've had.

Whole Foods brown butter chocolate chip cookies… the dough is avail in their freezer section, so you can bake at home. Surprisingly cheap, especially with what eggs cost these days!

This one. People actually notice and comment on how it’s the best chocolate cookie they ever had. It has nearly 11,000 positive reviews.

Thank you for posting this. This recipe actually is very similar to the traditional Toll House one.

The NYTimes recipe is my absolute favorite. Note that you have to let it set for 24 hours.

I know people either love or hate Josh Weissman but his chocolate chip cookie recipe for copying levain is pretty much spot on.

I thought DCUM found these to be the best? Do a search and you'll continuously find this. What makes any recipe good is browning the butter first.

Love this, as I have been doing the same! I like the Joy Food Sunshine recipe and it’s great for a small batch.

And make sure to use the bread flour, not AP. There is a difference. His "Good Eats" show about the chocolate chip cookies explains the chemistry behind the different recipes.

I'm the OP of this post and still really like this recipe. It's quick and easy and I like the texture.

I use butter (recipe calls for margarine which shall never enter my kitchen) and mini chocolate chips, and I like to add chopped pecans when I have them on hand.
