Would love recommendations for favorites hotel is Southern California. Looking to stay in 2-3 area. One in a beach town. Traveling with two teens, end of March. Prefer hotel that is walkable to things and a fun pool or near ocean.

We liked La Valencia in La Jolla— great pool, across the street from the tide pools/beach and walkable to some shops and restaurants.

Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point In Orange County.

The Del is probably best. It's on the beach level. A lot of places in Laguna Beach are up on cliffs. Love Montage but it's up on the bluff.

+1. May be better for adults than kids.

I don't know how luxurious you want but San Yisdro ranch is my favorite but expensive. March is hit of miss in So Cal weather wise. San Diego has nice hotels. Omni la costa is very kid friendly.

I live in CA and plan to vacation in San Diego for spring break, on Coronado island, but fyi due to a sewage pipe leak that’s gone on for years in Tijuana, you can’t really go in the ocean there. Even when it’s allowed I’m not sure I would.

We have stayed multiple times at Glorietta Bay Inn across from the Del. Not as fancy but not nearly as expensive and you are still right there.

UCLA Luskin Center is nice - it’s right on UCLA’s campus and in Westwood, which your teens would probably enjoy. Self-parking is super easy in their garage and the restaurant is great.

What is your budget per night per room OP? Do you need two rooms?

Great suggestions. Thank you. Looking to spend max around $700 a night - either one room that sleeps for or two rooms.

We had fun at the Del, but the floor in our room was literally slanted!…but part of the charm, I guess.

Our favorite is Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. We’ve stayed there multiple times, and it has never failed to impress.

+1 to Shutters. We've also stayed at the Del and felt like it was outdated and smelled kind of moldy.

We stayed at the gaslamp Marriott and it was nice, view of Coronado bridge and about 20 feet from Petco park. It was super easy to get anywhere. We got a deal at costco
