Flying Should Be Outlawed to Reduce Climate Change

I get that people like to travel but it's important to remember the harm you cause when you fly. I am not saying flying should be completely eliminated, but just on an absolute need to basis. If we can eliminate flying and possibly eventually driving, this would do a lot to save our planet and make the world a better place. We have the internet so travel is not that important anymore. Unless you are an executive, or a political leader you are better off staying put.

I travel a lot for work, but I am sympathetic to your overall point. While I do think traveling helps me do my job better, I find it strange that executives like me are the people you exempt from your travel ban

Some of us have family overseas. I would love to teleport magically rather than fly.

I do so because, my husband is also an exec for an international wholesaler and contracts with the WHO. He cannot do his important work without flying. I think he and most other execs have justifiable reasons for flying. I include Doctors and aide workers, but overall your average person doesn't have a good enough reason to do so.

How about you outlaw private jets first.

Probably better to start with the cruise ships.

Take your environmental concerns somewhere else. Like cruising for example. That’s a horrible polluter. Flying doesn’t even come close. We take multiple round trips to Europe every year, sometimes just for the weekend. And in business class. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

It's important that we save our planet for all of our families.

This.

And honestly I don’t think a business reason is better than a personal reason, but I see what you’re going for.

On the other hand, I wonder what your plan is for the tourism-dependent economies this would collapse? Any ideas for them?

You people are brainwashed. But sure, start with banning private jets.

Oh wait! Your elites have the best excuses, especially that fool named John Kerry. Funny how they always exempt themselves.

What would actually help is to ban low cost flights and make it out of reach for the LMC/UMC. They are the biggest offenders, actually.

It will unless you are wealthy enough to own a private plane. Have fun on your last couple of trips though 😎

Why would that change? Is something happening to commercial aviation?

Agree. Just tax the hell out of it. Otherwise it will never stop and only get worse. I also agree to get rid of cruises. Any car that can’t get 30mph highway. Houses over 3500sf. Etc.

We should have a price for carbon. And then let the market decide between flying, crusie ships, driving etc.
