Fort Knox

Fort Knox reportedly has not been audited in 50 years. The question remains is the gold still there?

Members of Congress and the media went into the vaults on September 23, 1974 in a tour led by the Director of the United States Mint at the time Mary Brooks (pictured) after a conspiracy was spreading that Fort Knox gold reserves were empty

According to the Daily Mail “The Bullion Depository holds roughly 147 million troy ounces of bulk gold, which represents over half the gold held by the U.S. federal government or 56.35 percent of the total.”

Now Senator Paul of Kentucky, and others online, are calling for Elon Musk / DOGE to do an audit of the gold.

Do you think a Fort Knox audit will/should happen? How much gold do you think is actually in Fort Knox? (More or less than they say?) What happens to the price of gold if there’s less (or more) gold in Fort Knox? If there’s less gold than there should be where do it go? Will such an audit have any significant effect on the overall economy? Will an audit make you want to invest in gold?

This is just a conspiracy theory. I suspect that there is exactly as much as they think.

Oh FFS. Go buy another roll of aluminum foil for your hat OP, the one you're wearing is too tight.

Well if you let Elon in you can be sure it will be empty when he leaves.

How do you think so many government employees get so rich? It’s well known they’re skimming from Fort Knox, the federal reserve, the treasury. Good thing DOGE’s team of crime fighting teenagers are there to uncover all their secrets!

It may well be a conspiracy. I don’t really know much about it, that’s why I’m asking for more information. Curious what makes you think it’s all there?

Didn’t realize this was a well known thing. Given that fact I think an audit could prove interesting.

I have worked for several metals companies and I know how the gold market operates. And it would have been impossible to release significant amounts of gold onto the market without anyone noticing.

I hear every employee leaves with a gold bar every day.

I know you’re trolling me but it makes me think- AI says if spread out to a thickness of 12 inches, the U.S. gold reserves would cover approximately 0.26 American football fields.

I imagined more I guess…

This is absolutely UNTRUE. I know bc I was on an audit team in 2001-2003 that not only worked there onsite but also where the other gold is at West Point.

My question was is the gold still there? Are you saying you think that’s untrue? Meaning it’s not there?

Of course it’s there – we were doing an audit of the security protocols and I touched it with my own hands. We had to wear steel boots, which was awkward with my suit, because if a bar falls on your foot, it can break your toes.
