Lots of deferrals in Chicago.
Same for WashU |
Doesn’t Chicago come out tomorrow? |
| Our private school counseling office told us Vanderbilt is a very tough ed2 admit, unpredictable and historically high rejection rate of strong students from our school. Said they tend to fill many of those seats with institutionsl priorities. However, my dc just told me that a classmate just got admitted to Vanderbilt tonight! (But not sure how many others may have been deferred or denied bc kids only post good news). |
In at WashU ED2. |
Stats please? If willing to share. Thanks. |
| I thought Chicago comes out tomorrow at 5. |
| Our friend’s son got in at Vanderbilt ED2. |

Reviving this because we’re looking for more info on Vandy EDII. Keep seeing references to it being a waste etc?
What’s the downside to a strong candidate trying for this if rejected by their first choice REA/EDI at Ivy+ and Vanderbilt is genuinely their second choice? Also, any stats or insight re kids who got in EDII? Where did they REA/EDI? |
You've described every single kid whose ED1 to somewhere other than X (in your case, Vandy) was denied. Don't you think that almost every single kid who applies ED2 somewhere "genuinely" wants that place as their second choice? Your kid is like every single ED2 candidate and Vandy knows this was your kid's second choice. No harm in doing it, but saying "genuinely is our second choice" gives you no leg up. |
