Settle an argument

for me please. I was responsible for planning our Spring Break trip to a warm, beachy destination. Consensus was that if we're going to a beachy place, the water must be warm enough for swimming in. So I chose a destination in the Caribbean. To me, Caribbean/Hawaii/South and Central America were the only options that are somewhat nearby that fit.

DH claims that we could have just gone to Florida. I say air temps will be fine, water temps not so much. Is he right that water temps will be warm enough to comfortably spend significant time in? Spring break is 2nd week of April.

My mom usually spends a month outside Sarasota in April and it's warm enough. We usually visit 3rd week and spend a ton of time in the water.

That said, Caribbean is a safer bet and much warmer.
And also, you don't get to complain if you're not involved in the process.

Yes, Florida will be warm enough in spring. Actually the water in FL is warm year round

We've swam in the water near Fort Myers Beach in early April.

But that's not the issue. The issue is why your DH is inserting himself and second guessing your choice. Is he being a cheapskate and bulking at the prices?

Depends on your tolerance for water temps and where in Florida. But the real question is why is your husband being a d!ck about it? If you can't be involved in the planning, stfu after.

This. We swim in the Gulf every April. We also swim in Maine water in the summer so we have a good tolerance! But it doesn't matter. If he wasn't involved in the process he doesn't get to be an ass and complain about it.

Congrats, you figured out the obvious. Would you prefer a cookie or a pat on the head?

Florida would work fine.

Hey stupid, the panhandle area gets 10m visitors a year. Which was not the point, obviously. Are you always this stupid or just on DCUM?

No need to answer, I already know.

Yeah, for Orlando, not for the beaches. If you really thought posting panhandle water temps was some kind of meaningful contribution to the discussion, then youre incredibly dumb and socially clueless.

Orlando isn't the Panhandle, sweetie.
