Do you get a room with a pool view for any other reason than to watch people swim and walk around in bathing suits?
I could see ocean view or broad water type view (bay, river, lake) but with a swimming pool view, it just seems creepy to me. |
I don't understand pool culture at all. Either a pool view, or laying around a communal bathtub.

Looking at water is calming. I'm not at all a perv or creepy. |
It’s because the rooms are cheaper, you creepy weirdo. |
I mean, in many hotels it’s “pool view” or something like “garden view” which often turns out to mean parking lot, so at least you know what you might get with the pool view |
+1. Especially in the early AM or evening when the pool is empty |
Cheaper than ocean but not cheaper than a different view |
It depends on the resort but I find pool rooms to be loud and not relaxing. Unless it has a private pool. |
Was coming to post the same thing. If I'm not going to pay for ocean view, I'm going to be looking for something else that guarantees a view other than the parking lot or a wall (which happened once). Depending on the resort, pool view can also guarantee a room in a certain building or area. When we go to this particular resort in the Caribbean, we request pool view as it has a favorable location and we still get a view of the ocean. No one is creeping on the people swimming below. |
I think some people choose NOT to have a pool view- its louder, especially if you have a balcony. |

Okay, if my choice is a noisy parking lot — usually the only other alternative — I’m picking the pool. |
This is a super weird question. Are you projecting on the perv front? I’d rather have a pool view, if it’s not super noisy or chlorine-y, than a parking lot view. Pools seem wholesome (to me—obviously not to you), and there’s a chance a pool view will motivate me to get some exercise. |
OP is obviously a creeper and wants validation. Weirdo. |
It’s an inferior view they try to sell as an upcharge. I literally refuse pool view. It is loud and obnoxious. I’d rather view the parking lot. |
