Writing for MAGA

People need to change their communication style so the voters who need to read and understand it will have a chance to do so.
When you write, you need to use simpler sentence structure (fewer clauses, basically) and choose key words that MAGA will actually pay attention to. Also, use fewer pronouns. Basically write less like a scholar and more like, well, propaganda.

Here's my attempt.

Today is a dark day when once there were so many winners. SIL, the Soybean Innovation Lab, will shutter its doors as of 4/15/25 as all USAID funding has ceased. Today I had to let go of a staff of 30. These individuals are not only unique experts in the field of tropical soybean, but also close colleagues and friends who are now unexpectedly out of work. The land grant system now loses 19 crown jewel Innovation Labs, across 17 states, that delivered high and measurable impact on very little investment. U.S. soybean farmers lose one of their best tools to expand their markets and U.S. standards globally. Local economies in emerging markets lose soybean as an incomparable engine growing wealth, prosperity, and economic development. International security is a loser, as local populations now fall back into poverty, unrest, and migration, due to greater food insecurity. U.S. influence loses as Innovation Labs operate on the ground in direct collaboration with hundreds of local businesses, organizations, and governments building strong and lasting friendships. Today we all lose. It is a shame. Innovation Labs like SIL are an investment for good on so many levels.

Writing for MAGA:

America Last: Another Win for China

This is bad news for American farmers and workers. The Soybean Innovation Lab (SIL) will shut down - totally - on April 15, 2025.

Why? Because Trump cut USAID funding - and that funding includes us.

What does it mean? First off, 30 Americans will lose their jobs - these are all experts in soybean farming.

Also, across 17 states, top agricultural research labs will have to close. All of them helped U.S. farmers sell more soybeans worldwide. Now, that help is gone.

Who benefits? Not America. U.S. farmers lose critical tools to compete. China wins big. When we stop helping other countries grow soybeans, they'll turn to China instead. That means fewer exports for our farmers and more power for the CCP.

Meanwhile, struggling nations fall deeper into poverty. Hunger and job insecurity will only cause more of them to want to come to the US. That means more illegal immigration and global instability. Bad for them and bad for us.

The Soybean Innovation Lab was a smart investment. It helped farmers, created jobs, and kept America strong.

Now, we’re surrendering ground. This isn’t putting America first—it’s giving it away."

MAGA keep saying that we are living in a bubble. It's coming for them, they just didn't think it would.

Write more simple stuff.
MAGA don't read much.

Keep underestimating MAGA. Keep losing. Rinse and repeat.

I don’t even think it’s just a MAGA thing. Attention spans are short and the literacy rate is down. Keep the messaging simple for everyone.

It needs to be tweet-sized.

The left is full of people who are so concerned about liability that they bury the lede under jargon, difficult language (for Americans you should ideally write at a 5th grade level) and in long form.

I work in Comms and am always banging my head against the wall because my bosses do not get this.

Soybeans are super easy to grow and are needed for crop rotation.

Why are Americans paying for this? Let the countries that receive this largesse grow their own.

And if these super soy lab people are in such high demand with their unique skills, they will find new jobs very quickly.

Embrace change.

It’s a cult. You can’t argue with MAGA; they’re impervious to facts. Get better at working with your allies and don’t waste energy arguing with MAGA. Understand what we are up against.

I actually don't care. The farmers in KS are up in arms b/c they didn't understand that it was coming for them.

Oooh...this is fun!

Don't forget MAGA vocabulary like:

-lamestream media (legacy media)
-radical left Marxist (Dem candidates)
-patriot (MAGAs, Jan. 6 criminals)
-Deep State (any govt employee that tries to stand up to Trump)
-fake news (anything that is unflattering to Trump or doesn't support his lies)
-drain the swamp (clean out civil servants loyal to the Constitution so they can be replaced by MAGA)

I voted for Trump and I agree. Keep it simple. Much easier for everyone.
