Broadway Play NYC—Help me pick

What did you recently see and love? Heading to NYC this spring. Thank you!

I have my eye on Stranger Things but it will just be opening so worried it might not be good.

What do you like? Musical? Comedy? Oh, Mary! Is hilarious. Sunset Boulevard and Gypsy are both great (but each is dark in its own way).

I just saw Wicked. I know... I'm late to the game, but it was wonderful.

I’ve seen lots of the classics at KC (Moulin Rouge is fabulous!). I like musicals but am good with contemporary or classic. Thank you!

I really loved Maybe Happy Ending, but I will note it's a smaller musical.

Death Becomes Her is a fun campy romp.

I haven't seen Oh Mary but I've heard it's hilarious and Titus Burgess should be great.

My understanding from London is Stranger Things is a bit like Cursed Child, the script isn't great but the visual effects make it worth it.

Gypsy I've heard basically rests on Audra's performance, which is terrific.

Lots of other great options.

Just saw &Juliet and have been recommending it to everyone. It’s so so fun.

I will say I was skeptical of &Juliet because of it being a jukebox musical. However this is an example of doing it right where they take fresh and funny takes on the songs and the result is absurdly fun.

The current US tour cast is absolutely amazing.

I think that comedy at the Comedy Cellar or Gotham Comedy Club is a better value for people who aren’t very rich. You get a night of great entertainment, drinks and snacks for well under $100, and, if you hate some of the comics, they’ll go away and new ones will come on.

I thought &Juliet was just okay but I was never a fan of boy band music.

It was very much not a hit with my family. A few thought it was ok but most really hated it

Love this idea! Will definitely do this in future. Family decided on stranger things. Will return to thread to share thoughts. Thanks again! OP
