WSJ reports Shadow President Musk's employee Marko Elez resigned due to his racist social media posts.
I don't have access to the full article but the little bit available at the link for free confirms this. https://www.wsj.com/tech/doge-staffer-resigns-over-racist-posts-d9f11a93 PS: Marko Elez will probably be hired by some other Musk-adjacent organization. I realize that. |
To add, Forbes reports Marko Elez previously worked for Musk's X and SpaceX.
So, yeah, Shadow President Musk will hire him at another company, most likely. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mollybohannon/2025/02/06/doge-treasury-agent-reportedly-resigns-after-racist-posts-heres-what-to-know-about-musks-agency/ |
This should shut down the entire DOGE effort pending court approved background checks of all involved. Who’s to say this dude wasn’t targeting minorities in his activities in Treasury system? |
+1 |
“ Marko Elez, one of the two primary DOGE emissaries embedded in the Treasury Department, resigned from the Musk-led agency, the White House told The Wall Street Journal, after the publication uncovered Elez’s ties to a since-deleted X account with racist posts including calling for “eugenic immigration policy” and to “normalize Indian hate.”” |
Elon Musk is a racist foreigner who believes in white superiority, and no one on the right or who is in power has suggested this be disqualifying. Donald Trump is also a believer in eugenics, and yet people voted for him to become president....again. |
Forest versus Trees This guy was messing around with the underlying code, as reported by Wired and TPM, of Treasury's payments system. We do not know what he was doing with that code. There's much bigger and more important issues with what he was doing than whether or not he is racist. That he is now disgruntled makes it even more dangerous. |
I hate them all. God Damn them all to Hell. |
There are bigger issues that his personal racism, but his personal racism + access could be material in a legal context in a way that present more potent than generalized concerns. |
I'm surprised anyone is forced to resign for racist posts, since there are a number of such people in the Trump administration. Darren Beattie, for example:
A former Donald Trump aide who once called for "competent white men" to be "in charge" and spread conspiracy theories about the 2021 US Capitol assault has been given a top State Department post, an official said. Reports of his latest appointment have sparked outrage among many, particularly over an October 4, 2024 post on X, in which he wrote: " Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work. "Unfortunately, our entire national ideology is predicated on coddling the feelings of women and minorities, and demoralizing competent white men." |
Also this guys:
Andrew Kloster, a self-described “raging misogynist” with a public history of racist comments and insistence on loyalty to President Donald Trump, has been installed as general counsel for the federal government’s human resources agency, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). https://www.pogo.org/investigations/raging-misogynist-now-federal-government-h-r-s-top-lawyer These people are all the same: irredeemable and valueless. |
Not really. It's also not a generalized concern. Adding or removing unvetted unverified untested and unknown code to the program that runs Treasury's entire payment system is a defacto violation of multiple laws and a national security nightmare. That he likely generated that code with a random AI, because he doesn't know cobol, makes it even worse. |
They also found his contact info in a leak of an escort website. So the guy has a history of soliciting prostitutes in recent years. That alone would be disqualifying for a security clearance |
These guys suck so bad. Don't let them win. |
+1 minorities and women who supported this fascists are idiots. |
