He has not followed up but if it was a hard NO for 25/26 they would have said that.

He believes something is in the works.

The most important question is who are "they."? My understanding is that "they" isn't only US Club or ECNL - and it's USYS/USCS/AYSO who are working on a universal set of rules to allow some/all Q4s play down next year - at the club's discretion. Hopefully that group of people can agree on something good before we get too far into May.

The minute any big club in a local area moves to let Q4s change age groups early every other club will follow. It would be a massive competitive disadvantage, both on the field and financially/player numbers, if they don't.

Same with leagues…take the mid Atlantic ecnl league. If Arlington moves q3/4, then all other teams need to follow to stay competitive

They is someone from the admin team within ECNL. He didn't say who specifically.

Remind me where this is coming from again? I remember the initial post but forget the specifics

No earlier post? Just found this out yesterday?

If a team can move down X number of Q4, then it will make room for the same X number of older Q4 to join this team. So, overall, the roster size will not be dramatically increased. So clubs will need to decide how they do the transition.

In a perfect world that is how it will work. But most ECNL teams do not have many if any Q3/4s. My clubs 10s have 5 the 11s have 2 for example.

So there will be some big rosters for sure.

I'd expect any top ECNL side to just form up a team that will repeat next year. makes the most sense.

USYS largest league already posted they are transitioning to 9/1 in Spring 26. Most teams will be formed and play up for fall have the option to stay as they are.

Where is it the USYS is starting spring 26???

I would expect ECNL to allow some "Flexibility" in their rule book, and then the clubs will decide how they transit based on players' ability and roster size. Since the teams are already formed and players pay the club fee, USSF will give the green light to this transit plan.

You know what would be awesome? To hear from the clubs. BSC has said nothing. Don’t know about BSC but for 15:21 above, check the RL roster. I might bet that’s where the Q3/4 kids are.
BSC keeps NL and RL separate so no pool. Would be awfully nice to hear something at this point.

Someone claims there’s “top secret” info ECNL is going to allow “flexibility” for 25/26, but there’s no way that’s being announced until ECNL tryouts have concluded.

It seems to be accepted that once clubs hold tryouts - rosters can't be adjusted and things are set in stone. That may not be a safe assumption. Just sayin.

Because of the new RL league rosters will not be set in stone. This will give the clubs the ability to move players up or down from week to week. Also ECNL allows rosters up to 30 only 18 are game eligible nothing is set in stone with ECNL.

This is true. Clubs that have both RL and NL are supposed to treat the age groups like a pool.
