If your kid changed their first name in middle school....

Did they ever go back to their birth name? It's been 2.5 years here and while I call her the new name, I really miss the old name.

Dd now goes by a nickname of her middle name at school. Love her middle name but hate the new nickname. She lets us call her by her first name at home because she said it was “too weird” to have us call her by her middle/new name. In fact, everyone who know her by her first name continues to call her that. We’ll see if it continues into college or if she gets tired of constantly correcting people.
As someone who always went by their middle name, I don’t know why anyone would choose to, it’s so annoying! |

| DC goes by a nickname socially with friends and at school, but family and longtime friends still use the real name. I don’t like the nickname and hope DC will tire of it, but I know that the more I say about it, the more DC is likely to dig in. Teenagers being teenagers and all. |

| Mine did because there were two other girls in her social circle with the same name. It lasted a few years, until they went to different high schools so it wasn't a problem anymore. |
