Ugh. My insurance co is no longer covering my Moujarno

I’m close to my goal weight but I still have 5 lbs to go.

Anyone btdt? I watch my food intake and exercise, but obviously the M makes it much easier.

Btw if you don’t believe in GLP, no need to respond!

Why should they?

My insurance didn't cover it last year, and I spread it out to 2-3 weeks between shots. I still lost 20 lbs over 6 months. My insurance covers it now, but I prefer how I feel when spreading it out. I went as long as 6 weeks between shots but still felt positive effects.

My doctor said that instead of being on it for life, I might benefit from using occasionally instead.

Is it because you are no longer obese or is it because your employer changed the plan?

NP my employer changed the plan to require you do a weight management plan before they will approve it. Problem is they didn’t tell me that so I’ve wasted a month trying to get a drug they previously covered for me last year approved. Plus, now I can’t get an appointment with the designated weight management people until mid Feb to find out what I need to do to get it covered. I asked if it went against my deductible for the year if I pay out of pocket in the meantime, and they said it doesn’t if it’s not approved. That doesn’t make sense to me but nothing about this makes sense to me. I guess they want me to be fat and have high blood pressure again?!

So you have to pay. Or do it the normal way like everyone else.

go compounded - do research on it.

Compound it and pay cash. It is cheaper.

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to try to spread it out for now. So bummed. My insurance coveted it all last year and suddenly they just stopped. Said they will only cover for type 2 diabetes.

Yep, me too. So frustrating

I didn't even try to have it covered. I pay cash for compound. When compounding goes away, I'll pay cash through LillyDirect. Not cheap, but honestly, cheaper than all the junk food and eating out I used to spend money on.

Young people are getting osteroperosis from takeing it! It may be a blessing in disguise!

No, this is misleading. Lack of resistance training with weights and proper nutrition are the reason. People just love to blame the meds.

Get used to it.

Until the price of the drugs come down, more and more employers are going to drop coverage or have some coverage limitations like you are experiencing with it. We see it all the time.

That’s because it is Indicated for diabetes.

You need one indicated for obesity.

Although sounds like you aren’t obese anymore. Check the formulary and get your doctor to change it.

You didn’t expect to stay on it together?
