Loudoun Soccer East

Loudoun Soccer is excited to announce LOUDOUN EAST, our regional Travel program designed specifically for players in Sterling, Cascades, Algonkian, and Countryside. The new venture will be spearheaded by Directors Jose Urquizo and Rado Pletka, two well-respected members of the Sterling soccer community.
Beginning with the 2025/26 season, Loudoun East will form up to ten Sterling-centered teams, opening a new pathway for area players to reach the highest tiers of the sport. Loudoun East teams will train in the Sterling area, with local players and coaches—all supported by Loudoun Soccer’s technical and administrative staff.
Loudoun East promotes the Club’s goal of expanding opportunities in the player pathway, while supporting grassroots efforts in our community.
Information on tryouts, staffing, and more will be posted on the Loudoun East webpage. Find it on our website or at the link in our bio.

As someone who lives in Sterling I’ll be watching this.

So where are they getting field space in that area from?

Sterling soccer has use of most of the fields. Someone tried to start a rec program in Sterling and their NCSL teenaged teams home games were playing on an elementary school open field with popup goals.

A direct punch in the face of Rev directorship - dollars didn’t persuade a former employee (coach) and one who never caved in. Interesting to say the least.

Isn't this just a renaming of Deportivo Sterling to Loudoun Soccer East? Not every announcement is a shakeup leading to the demise of youth soccer as we know it.

Yes, Loudoun purchased this program and re-branded.

Are they also going to feed NVA? Or will have their own ECNL pathway?

They will feed NVA. Rumor at one point was that Sterling Soccer was going to join NVA (replacing GFR); they even took part in the NVA friendlies this past Fall. Instead it looks like Loudoun wants to put Sterling Soccer out of business!

It’s a little more than that. Deportivo Sterling Served Sterling Park. The neighborhoods listed on the Loudoun East website are really the main feeders for Sterling Soccer (plus Sterling Park.) It looks to me like they’re going after Sterling Soccer field space and players.

Having Herndon leave VDA on the boys side is a win for VDA?

Idiot of the day

Losing players never helps a program, stop being a troll

Strength in numbers way to go NVA east
