I really miss smaller portions

Anonymous
I remember going out to restaurants in the 80s and early 90s with my parents. We would always order an appetizer or salad, entree and dessert. I never remember feeling overly stuffed.

Now I can’t even finish one entree so we never get dessert. You can’t even order something light because the salads are huge and the appetizers are all shareable size as big as an entree.

So just eat a portion of it and bring the rest home. Not hard.

We simply share meals, or bring half home. It's fine to serve family style at most restaurants.

A lot of food doesn’t travel very well especially appetizers, salad or desserts.

Curiosity question, can anyone here actually finish an appetizer, entree and dessert at a restaurant sitting now?

How far does it have to travel? Are you trekking the Karakoram mountains to get to the restaurant?

Perhaps ironically but only if I am on a cruiseship because they size portions assuming you will eat multiple courses.

Which is why you share.

- one salad or app
- number of people at the table divided by two for entrees (three if you have a child)
- one dessert

Haven't had an appetizer in years. Usually we just order an entree each. Rarely a dessert. Too much.,

I also remember going out to dinner in the 80's and 90's with my parents. Maybe you and I went to different types of restaurants but we always ordered a main each, and then one or maybe two people would order dessert and we'd share. We probably took home leftovers half the time.

I only eat 1/4. I do not "bring food home" from restaurants as that is low class behaviour.

An elegant slim woman like OP couldn't eat one restaurant entree even in a week!

Lol I am far from elegant and not skinny. I exercise a lot so I’m normal weight and muscular. It’s just not enjoyable to be served a platter food that you can barely eat half of , let it sit on the plate and then be expected to shovel it into a box, walk or drive around with it, put in the fridge and microwave it the next day,

Please have your lady's maid take care of these menial tasks.

1/4? How trashy?! I only suck on the ice cubes of my diet coke and rearrange the food on my plate so it's hidden but I look like I've eaten. If I really feel someone's watching me I'll stuff some in my cheeks and then go in the bathroom and spit it out. You must be a fat pig.

See how stupid all that sounds.
