| Just wondering whether anyone in the new administration is thinking about the traffic cluster-F that is going to transpire with the RTO push... |
| Hopefully both… |
| Why? They don’t like people in DC or close-in Maryland. Why would they care about a miserable commute? They want to punish the region. Where have you been? |
| People should use public transportation. |
| In case you haven’t noticed the trend is to make things harder, not easier |
|
Trump said he is firing everyone. If true, traffic will decrease.
|
| Ask him |
| That would make getting to work easier and would make it less likely that you will quit, which is not the goal. |
|
OP here: my theory is that they hate anything that is intended to protect the environment (Beach closure), especially if it mostly protects UMC remote workers (Beach closure.) And that they might be happy to push the DC government around (Conn Ave reopening.)
Btw the current traffic patterns suck and do no one any favors, especially NWDC neighborhoods. |
| Why would he be involved in such petty micromanaging? He doesn’t care about traffic or the environment. |
Shows you how desperate car-brained suburbanites are to have Big Daddy Trump meddle in local DC affairs so they can personally benefit at the expense of DC residents and the environment. |
| They should re-open Pennsylvania Ave in front of the White House, and E Street! |
What are you a Lorin? Presidents do not direct traffic Find your brain |
Beach wasn't closed to protect the environment. It was closed during the pandemic to give people a place to walk and bike during the lockdowns. That's the angle if you want one. It is one of the last remnants, along with the streateries, of the lockdown measures. |
Yes, but they also don't particularly care about quality of life for anyone who works in D.C. or lives in Montgomery County, and they don't mind if feds returning to the office find the commutes unpleasant and decide to quit. So I guess it could all be a wash. Personally, I plan to keep taking Metro. |
