| DD told me it will be around $750- you got to be kidding me, right? |

You do not send a senior photo as a part of college apps. A college allowing photo uploads would be rare, though they may exist.
Sounds like your DD is talking about a professional photo shoot. No one needs that. Anyone with a photography hobby can do senior photos for far less. Depends on what you are looking for, exactly. My D has a photography hobby and did the senior photos for my S and several of her friends, for example. |
| ^To add, a professional photo shoot is expensive not only because the shoot itself takes time, but the photo editing also takes time. |

In MCPS, the basic package was free. DS showed up in a suit to school one day, and a professional team took photos of the kids. They used them in the yearbook. I think I had some free digital prints that I sent to the grandparents.
No college application requires photos. |
| No college application should ask for a photo |
| My DD applied to 8? 10? schools and no photos for any of those. |
|
For daughter $1500. And that's middle ground for an excellent photographer
For son, will not spend that much. Will find a high school senior with a camera.

| Honestly, we just used the school photographer and I spent about $160 buying prints of the best poses. Using an outside photographer to take senior photos is absolutely not required. College applications are submitted online and rarely offer a way to supply a photo. Once the student has been accepted to a university and started the registration process to attend, the school may ask for a photo to use for the student ID. |
| Never got senior photos and in America one does not send them to colleges. |
| Not in DMV area. We paid around $300 for two different poses and a mix of standard-sized prints. |
| Our yearbook photos can be whatever kid wants( not formal.) first kid just submitted a picture of her that she liked that a friend had taken. Second kid was up for doing a photo shoot and a photographer/mom in town offers them for what seemed like a reasonable rate, I think maybe 450? Definitely did not send to any school. |
| Georgetown does offer the option (which I would suggest taking) to upload a photo. However, it’s the only school I know of that does. - College Counselor |
| Just under 4K all in. DC definitely sent them to colleges, and got in everywhere they applied. |
| Your dd wants a photo shoot. I’m not saying that’s good or bad but it has nothing to do w graduating or applying to colleges |
Can tousay any more about why? What if the student isn't good-looking? |
