ECNL plan will be out around May.

I hope this is correct!
But what a time to put it out, this will really make tryout exciting.

That is why it looks like all the leagues hold their lips tight before the tryout.

ECNL insiders will get prior info. ECNL does not treat or care about all clubs equally. Most club directors will find out after the tryout window is over.

Clubs with ECNL/RL will be allowed to get big rosters and pick each week where players fit. Can only play one ECNL/RL game per weekend.

ECNL will first announce it plans on transitioning to 9/1 in 26/27 in partnership with US Club that will come out sometime around May I’m told.

ECNL is going to allow some flexibility with transition in 25/26 which will be announced with the new league policy rules. I believe that’s sometime in July.

Where is this coming from?

Top secret. But everything will become public knowledge soon enough.

Just to be clear ECNL will NOT change its age group formatting for 25/26 to 9/1. But there will be “flexibility”.

That is why any transit plan, if there is one, has to be released after team formation. This is to follow the USSF 25/26 no-change rule.

And there'll be hell to pay if they don't let people out of their commitment if it's not what they expected.

The best bet for Q4 players is to join a club that has the right set up for them in the 2026-2027 season.

If there’s transitional plans, the best bet for a Q4 may be to find an ECNL club that will take care of them in 25/26 also. Hopefully that’s your current club.

⬆️ 100%, especially since there is top secret knowledge of “flexibility”

Things change quick in ECNL, teams rise and fall off with player movement all the time. The best 2012 team in your area now may not be the best 2011/2012 U15 team in 26/27. Also you have the most leverage to get on a team the first year you join, after that you're lost in the player pool. My kids Q3 ECNL/GA plays both, we will wait for what happens once it official see who's going where and who's coaching that team

Yeah thats the fun; The top teams wont be top teams after the chage. Everything is getting flipped on its head.

What are characteristics of the right setup? Also, I feel like people on the DMV are pretty guarded about sharing where they are going but maybe that is me.

Coaching, quality players, playing time. I'm from California but everyone's situation is unique to them. Word always gets out and usually parents and clubs start planning this stuff in advance.

I'm looking for a coach who's interested in teaching, winning is fun though. The best is when the development leads to winning.

The perfect set up for a successful team after the age change is the luck of as many top team Q3/4 to add to a roster
