What is your conclusion based on?

ECNL plan will be out around May.

I hope this is correct!
But what a time to put it out, this will really make tryout exciting.

You’re assuming the plan will be out before try outs?

That is why it looks like all the leagues hold their lips tight before the tryout.

ECNL insiders will get prior info. ECNL does not treat or care about all clubs equally. Most club directors will find out after the tryout window is over.

Clubs with ECNL/RL will be allowed to get big rosters and pick each week where players fit. Can only play one ECNL/RL game per weekend.

ECNL will first announce it plans on transitioning to 9/1 in 26/27 in partnership with US Club that will come out sometime around May I’m told.

ECNL is going to allow some flexibility with transition in 25/26 which will be announced with the new league policy rules. I believe that’s sometime in July.

Unless our ecnl director isn’t allowed to share the above info yet, he clearly said there is no plans in the works to change before fall 2026. 💯 he was sitting in the rooms with the ecnl peeps making these decisions. We had this discussion about plans for my trapped Q4. I was hoping for a transitional plan.

What is the name of your ecnl director? This doesn’t sound like a secret, so we can verify this information with him or her correct?

Nothing has even been officially decided nothing to know yet. They are still working on when to announce 9/1 as silly as that sounds.

And 100% they would not be allowed to share any info. Until it’s official ECNL business.

I feel pretty confident he doesn’t want to be emailed by peeps from an anonymous forum. I already feel bad for the GA commissioner’s emailing shared. I’m just sharing a personal conversation that we had about my Q4 kid and plans for her for 25/26. She stays put and then joins the age group below to make an impact in 26/27. You can take the info any way you’d like.

The GA commissioners email is on their website. So it’s already public knowledge.
Definitely do not share someone’s private contact info.

While somebody need to be youngest in the team and I see my responsibility as parent to give him all the resources to compete in that challenging environment for him.

My biggest concern that he is one of the youngest in the school with subsequent challenges, and now he will be the youngest in the team and need to go through that again. That is the only concern to switch from BY/SY - now Sep-Dec kids will have an age advantage in both school and sport, while June-August kids will need to overcome it academically and athletically. But that is fine, that is how you grow up a strong person.

He is 6 years old…

Yes, and those will be impacted the most because you will see a significant shift towards Sept-Dec kids for the young teams which are currently building from scratch.

Again, not complaining - that is a life. While a big question to the SY switch because Sept-Dec will benefit both academically and athletically. If somebody brought a point of fairness, I don’t that is valid.
