So nice gone several times to Trader Joe’s and there are NO chicken thighs.
No eggs either as expected. Is this from the bird flue? There was a ton of chicken breasts. Are people avoiding all breast because of the risk of woody texture? How is the quality of TJ chicken in general compare to other grocers? We don’t eat much meat and they are cheaper than Whole Foods — but is WF better?? |
Take your lies somewhere else. All grocery stores are fully stocked with eggs and meat. |
Yes it's from bird flu. Costco was also empty of eggs. I'm thankful I have a source for fresh eggs and can glass them for long term storage.
Get ready for egg prices to skyrocket. |
I was at Costco last night - everything was well stocked, but eggs, canned chicken, and their rotisserie shredded packaged chicken were definitely running way lower than usual (not out). The eggs were a different brand than they usually carry.
There is a ton of chicken culling happening and yes, it absolutely is impacting egg and chicken supplies. TJs near me doesn't stock that much of each item so it isn't surprising they'd run out, it's pretty common for some areas to look picked over by the end of the day. |
Also whole foods chicken os far superior to TJ. Trader joes is really not much of a step above Aldi or Lidl, you are aware. |
Have not experienced this at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods and I’m there several times a week. |
WTF are you smoking? Has the bird flue 😂 gotten to your brain cells? There is no chicken or egg shortage. Sure your store may have been temporarily out. It happens sometimes. With EVERY product occasionally |
Why are people denying there are egg supply chain issues? This is a known and reported issue. It's like you're so resistant to people panicking that you're making it worse by gaslighting folks that it isn't an issue.
Yes, there are less eggs being produced than there used to be because of bird flu. None of this necessarily means there is an impending crisis, but I truly don't get the denial on facts. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2025/01/09/egg-prices-shortage-bird-flu/77514072007/ |
Trader Joes has no storage space, when they sell out of what they have stocked, its gone until the truck comes. |
Who the heck does all their shopping at Trader Joe’s.
Go to Safeway or Giant . Fully stocked. Eggs at Safeway are $6 for 30. Relax and do better. |
I agree that Trader Joe's doesn't have a lot of storage, so you should not rely on them for your staples, OP. It's not their business model. |
Egg prices are always bouncy. |
au contraire... DC is in college and cooks. They said that they can tell the difference between Aldi, Lidl and TJ eggs. We usually get eggs from TJs; they've been going to Aldi and Lidl. They said TJ eggs are much better. |
dp.. I like TJs much better. Do not like Giant much; Safeway only marginally better than Giant. |
I do the majority of my shopping at Trader Joe’s. I typically buy meat and specific items that TJ’s doesn’t carry at WF, but I used to buy meat at TJ’s regularly (still do sometimes) and all the standard stuff - chicken, pork, beef - is available. OP - my NYC TJ’s is fully stocked. Maybe try a different location than your usual one? |
