What are the colleges you believe are underrated and arent in the USNews top 20.
I personally adored the tour DD and I went on through sewanee. It is a truly beautiful campus with a mix of traditional student culture and a fantastic education. DD ended up getting into Princeton, but I still sometimes think about how much she would’ve loved her time at Sewanee. |
| U South Carolina. DC seems truly happy there. On track to get a good job too. |
| Reed. Bats well above is ranking intellectually. |

St. Olaf
Union College Also, URichmond; Lehigh; W&M; and URochester. |
| St John's College. I LOVED their geeky vibe and their unabashedly classical curriculum. DS, despite reading in Latin and French, wasn't enthused, and went to GW's Elliott School of International Affairs instead. |

Agree on Sewanee. It's a fantastic place to get an education, and I've never met a graduate who wasn't successful. I think its location, while stunning and beautiful, holds it back due to its remoteness. If it were in the Northeast or even just closer to a real city, it would be ranked much higher than #45 and would have an acceptance rate much lower than 50%. Also underrated and/or underappreciated: Rose-Hulman Texas A&M St. Joseph's |

St. John’s Santa Fe. We were just visiting for a vacation, and I asked DS if he wanted to go through and he said sure. It’s such a stunning place to go to college, and students seemed really happy just digging into their work intensely. It was also pretty diverse in terms of non traditional/older students which we found made class discussion really mature and interesting.
I also think Whitman is a under recognized lac. |
