GFR Falling apart?

The last guy who had the position and messed the club up is still in the club, made a new position for himself and we are now supposed to think that this new person will come in and make all these changes while the people that were in charge for the past 7 years are just going to sit and get in line. Let's get serious.

She's great, YES! Will she make changes? MAYBE when? 3-4 or maybe 6-7 years down the road

GFR is pretty lean management-wise. Who exactly are "all the people that were in charge" that will prevent changes?

Some facility upgrades might be nice but probably need to work that out w/ FCPS & Fx Park Authority. Longer term project.

Not saying prevent changes but anyone who thinks a person comes in and starts dictating what is done, how it's done is not being honest here. She'll need a year or 2 to learn the landscape, all the people in play will be on their best behavior to make a good impression. She shouldn't be judged if everyone leaves, and she shouldn't be given flowers if everyone stays. We won't know until a couple of years down the road.

MYS has not been afraid to push the malcontents out. Will be an interesting few months here with the coaches who think rules don't apply to them.

Funny that the new hire announcement came right after OP chirped that winter had come. How quickly the seasons change!

Fair enough but a sinking ship just patched a big hole and is now afloat once again. We will see if the patch job does the trick but at least for now the ship is not sinking! The bad changes happen quickly and the good ones sometimes take a little longer.

Sure. We won't know if she's successful for 2 years. But I'd be surprised if there are not quick improvements in things like communication and vision. I'm sure she already knows most of the players at GFR.

The fact that it took the Board over a month to announce the hire shows it was pretty well thought out. And my guess is they will support her making some quick improvements and/or that's why they chose her. Not sure who else applied for the job but I'd have to imagine there was some decent interest.

How dare she not put pressure on these 6-7 year olds to become professionals and earn those badges.

I hear the futsal program had a lot of kids there, so while GFR might keep their best coaches, hard to coach when you don't have kids to coach

you have never seen her coach if you don't think she is putting pressure on those kids. maybe not PTA, we never did that, but at U9 and U10 she was a monster.

a monster? 🤣🤣 but you stayed w/ her for 2 years? and now people saying she’s coaching 100 girls and none have left….weird.

no, thankfully my dd played for alex but we witnessed plenty of FA's behavior. it was atrocious. she's notorious for it but go ahead and keep defending her. your kid will one day have a real soccer coach and you'll see this for what it was.

If she is coaching 100 girls, that is a bigger problem than her incessant yelling, IMO

Monster might be pushing it but she is a terrible soccer coach. There's a reason she coaches the youngest kids, parents don't know better.
