The question is whether Potomac will jump the line and release decisions early like last year. And will Maret once again call people to see if they will accept on the spot and when they say not sure, want to see other results, they will get waistlisted. Everyone be prepared for nonsense and unexpected stress from a few schools.

depends when your mailman or delivery guy drops off the package. For most people, the package will arrive first

We did but we are a legacy family. They made it clear that they make these calls to legacy families only ahead of the official decisions release date. Hang on tight and best of luck to m your daughter !

Here is the party line if someone puts you on the spot with an acceptance call to test you:

Kid is not to answer phone calls on any device. Period.

Parents answer, gush that your kid will be soooooo excited and you can wait to share this great news with them when they get home. You can’t answer for them—that would rob them of their moment that they’ve worked hard for. But you know this is THE news they have been waiting for!! You are sure they will accept, but can’t speak for them.

Then wait it out.

Yes, you get on the portal and you will have an acceptance, rejection, or wait list letter.

In-state vs out-of-state makes no difference in what you receive.

As far as a boost to admissions, there’s always speculation that schools want a little geographic diversity, but no way to know for sure. It’s not like colleges where the schools like to be able to tout that they have students from all 50 states.

I felt pretty confident about my kids’ applications up until this morning. I know they will be fine and rejection is a part of life, but the irrational side of me feels as if it is my fault if they don’t get accepted anywhere.
