OP, I wonder if your expectations are what’s making this hard? Usually when I am feeling like it’s all a mess, I’ve put expectations on my kids or myself that aren’t reasonable or helpful. Could you experiment with different ways of thinking about the Sunday routine? For example, let the kids dress themselves and wear whatever. Bring coloring sheets and let them play during church. If you are worried about other people, could you find a way to let that go, or find another church that makes you feel more comfortable to “come as you are?” |
