If you're on Facebook, will you leave it?

Just watched the video from Mark Zuckerberg. He's removing fact checkers, and people will be able to say gay people are mentally ill, etc.

I do like that someone made fake articles about Mark being a convicted criminal, since he's against fact checking now...

So, will you leave Facebook?

I'm not a fan of FB....much prefer insta

So? Why do we have to "fact check" every conservation? Should cell phone carriers also be scanning your texts and calls to make sure you don't express offensive misinformation?

Sadly, very few things are legitimately fact-checked these days and mainstream media spin facts to support a political narrative.

I’ll continue to use FB as a platform to house my pictures/videos and casually engage with friends and families. Why not? Because someone somewhere who isn’t in my sphere will spew nonsense—even hateful nonsense? That’s already happening…everywhere.

Call me when the masses are ready to launch a mutiny against the corporate class that drives politics and the media. ICYMI: it’s both sides…the rich and powerful ones.

I left. I won’t support irresponsible companies. Left my gym too. I now search the owners and corporate values of every place I spend money.

I can't believe anyone still uses any Zuckerberg products after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Why does anyone use any social media? It is going to be filled with so much deep fake content generated by AI people who use social media will no longer be able to discern reality from silicon output.

Tech companies need to be regulated like media companies are. They have skated past any accountability for too long because of the power of the tech economy and because legislators didn’t understand technology.

I deactivated both FB and IG yesterday.

You know they’re the same thing, right? Check your settings and controls - they’re joint.
Anonymous
I use it now for the same things I always did - keeping in touch with actual humans I know but don’t see much/often. I do not post memes, political discussions, or other such things and I mute my idiot friends on the right and left who do nothing but repost that crap. If you ever thought any of it was benevolent, or that anyone who ever posted the stuff that was fact checked changed their minds about 9/11, vaccines, or January 6th, you were always gullible yourself.

I left Twitter ages ago. I no longer look at FB, Ig, and Threads. TBH, FB and Ig were devolving into just a bunch of ads and stuff I have no interest in (their algorithm was off, maybe because I Use DuckDuckGo and not Google). It was boring.

deactivated? Delete it!

I downloaded all of my photos and videos, etc.

I deleted my account earlier this week. They're making me wait 30 days to decide. I'm not logging back in.

I hope a lot of people delete their X and Insta and FB accounts.

I only had LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and FB.

I now only have a very minimal LinkedIn because of work.

I won’t because I only use it to connect with friends or to follow organizations like ski resorts, sports teams, etc. It’s not my news source so fake posts don’t impact me. I am going to drop X, which I almost never use anyway. I find Elon much more dangerous than Zuckerberg because he is using his platform to influence policy.

+1, this isn't new although with AI its getting worse (like with the fake AI accounts you can talk to). Facebook has been happy to spread misinformation for years.

I deleted my account after the 2016 election and I'm so much happier NOT knowing what dumb stuff my relatives are sharing.
