Probably we didn’t spend enough on our primary residence when we bought, but it worked for us and then the kids got to an age where it didn’t seem worth upgrading because they would be gone soon. It didn’t mean we had a lot more money for other things like travel.

Age 60, about 75% equity. We've paid off less than half of the loan balance but our home value has gone up a lot.

I don't expect that we'll ever pay off the mortgage completely. (don't tell Michelle Singletary)

We own it. And we deposited money for both of our DC to buy their homes. Worked hard to do this and don't give two f's what others think. Work harder.
