Keep Lexus or Get Tesla?

I have an RX 350 that we lease--we've been leasing Lexus for years and I only do it because I like getting a new model every 3 years, but it's $$$ to do this. I like the car though and have been super pleased with it over the years. During the pandemic, we bought a Model Y and we do love it. I kept saying when the lease is up which it is now, we'll add a Model 3. Then, Musk went crazy and my DH is now very anti-Tesla, despite having one and is dead set against another and wants us to renew the LExus and just stick with that as the 2nd car. The Lexus is so expensive and we really have no need for an SUV now that kid are older, etc. I can get the Model 3 for cheap and save a ton per month this way. Yeah I don't like him, but it's not like Tesla is going to fold if I decide not to get one so honestly, I'd rather put my own finances first over trying to stick to Musk by not buying one of his cars. I'm not interested in other EVs since we like our other Tesla, have the charging port, and like being able to use their superchargers out and about. So, my DH is crazy right? Go ahead, save some $ per/mo and get the 3?

I would never have only electric cars. And you already are fiscally irresponsible by perpetual leasing and turning over - go buy a gas/hybrid car that you actually like and keep it.

We’ve had two. They are crap. There are better EVs out there.

Most EVs now come with adapters for Telsa chargers. So even if you don’t get a Tesla you can use your existing Tesla charger at home as well as the superchargers.

We have a Tesla and a wrangler. Shockingly the X goes through snow like nothing. We could barely get the v6 wrangler out of the driveway, but the Tesla was perfect in the snow. How is money important to you if you have been leasing and buying luxury cars?
How much is the insurance on those cars? Since you don't care about money, go get the car. You can always get rid of it (maybe not) if you don't like it.
I don't know anyone who doesn't love their Tesla. I love the stock as it allowed me to retire very early.

- DW drives the Lexus 2025 LX700h,
- I drive the Lexus 2024 RC-F,
- 22 years old DS drives the Lexus 2018 IS-350 F,
- 21 years old DD drives the 2021 NX350h,
-19 years old DS drives the 2021 NX350h,

super reliable cars.
